4 Key Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Bensonhurst, NY AC Repair Contractor
When you need AC repair services, you want to hire someone that you can rely on to offer efficient and long-lasting results, yet that will get the job done quickly and affordably. While there are a lot Bensonhurst, NY air conditioner repair contractors that service the Kings County area, they aren’t all created equal, and you certainly don’t want to hire someone who isn’t qualified.
To ensure that you choose someone you can depend on to provide the best results possible, take the time to interview a few different contractors.
Here are some important questions that you should ask prospective AC repair contractors.
Do you have a valid license?
In Kings County, AC repair contractors need to have a valid license in order to perform the services they provide; however, that doesn’t mean that every contractor has a license. Be sure to ask any of the air conditioning repair companies that you’re thinking about hiring if they are licensed and if they can provide you with proof of their license. A credible Bensonhurst, NY air conditioner repair professional will gladly share this information with you.
Do you have valid insurance coverage?
You also want to make sure that you hire an AC repair company that is properly insured. They should have general liability coverage at the very least, and if they employ a team, they should have workers’ compensation coverage, too. Insurance protects you from having to pay for any mishaps that may occur; damages that may occur to your Kings County property, for example. Ask the Bensonhurst, NY air conditioner repair professionals that you’re considering if they’re insured and if you can see proof of their insurance.
Do you have references?
When you’re looking for a reputable Bensonhurst, NY air conditioner repair professional, speaking to a few customers they have serviced is certainly helpful. You can acquire a lot of information about a company from their previous and/or current clients.
Ask the AC repair contractors that you’re considering hiring if they can provide you with a list of references, and take the time to reach out to a few of those references. If a technician won’t provide this information, consider that a red flag and cross them off your list.
How long have you been in business?
When it comes to something as important as AC repair, you don’t want to leave anything to chance. That’s why hiring a well-established Bensonhurst, NY air conditioner repair company that has been servicing the Kings County for at least a few years is highly recommended.

Some information about Bensonhurst, NY
Bensonhurst is a residential neighborhood in the southwestern section of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The neighborhood is bordered on the northwest by 14th Avenue, on the northeast by 65th Street, on the southeast by Avenue P and 22nd Avenue, and on the southwest by 86th Street. It is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Dyker Heights to the northwest, Borough Park and Mapleton to the northeast, Bath Beach to the southwest, and Gravesend to the southeast.
Bensonhurst derives its name from Egbert Benson (1789–1866), whose children and grandchildren sold his lands to James D. Lynch, a New York real estate developer. Lynch bought the old farmlands from the Benson family in the mid-1880s, and by 1888, began selling private lots in an area dubbed as Bensonhurst-by-the-Sea, now Bath Beach. The first sale of lands in ‘The New Seaside Resort’ area was advertised in the July 24, 1888, issue of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
Through the mid-20th century, Bensonhurst developed as an Italian and Jewish enclave. Despite a wave of commercial development in the 1980s, some land had remained undeveloped by then. By the early 2000s, condominiums were being built in Bensonhurst, and it had turned into a diverse community of Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Middle-Eastern, and Russian residents.
