3 Important Questions to Ask East Elmhurst, NY Air Conditioner Installers
Summers in Queens County can be pretty uncomfortable; in fact, the high heat and humidity can make things downright oppressive. That’s why you’re thinking about installing a new air conditioning system. Whether your current air conditioner has exceeded its life expectancy and you need to replace it, or you want to outfit your newly constructed property with an HVAC system, you want to make sure that you choose the most dependable professional for the job. To do that, getting in touch with at least three air conditioner contractors is highly recommended.
Whether you get referrals to companies from the people you know or you search online for “air conditioner installation near me”, here’s a look at three key questions that you should ask. The answers to these questions will help you decide which East Elmhurst, NY air conditioner installer is the right one for the job.
Do you have a license?
Air conditioning installation is a complex job. In order to ensure quality results, a contractor should receive professional training. A license confirms that a East Elmhurst, NY air conditioner installer has been professionally trained, that they will use the latest techniques and strategies, the most advanced tools and equipment, and that they will adhere to stringent safety standards. Plus, in Queens County, air conditioner installers must be licensed. Make sure to ask contractors that specialize in air conditioner installation near you if they are licensed. Request proof of their license and check and make sure that it’s in good standing.
Are you fully insured?
Even if you hire the best East Elmhurst, NY air conditioner installer, there’s always a chance that something could go wrong. They could inadvertently damage your Queens County property, or the contractor could injure himself while installing your new air conditioning system, for example. In the event that something does go wrong, you definitely don’t want to get stuck with unexpected expenses, so make sure that you find out if the contractors that offer air conditioner installation near you are licensed. Should something happen, their insurance coverage will pay for the related costs. Request proof of their insurance and confirm that the policies are active and in good standing.
What kind of experience do you have?
Sure, there’s a chance that a new contractor that offers air conditioner installation near you could deliver good results; however, when it comes to something as important as a cooling system for your Queens County home, you don’t want to settle for anything less than excellent, and you certainly don’t want to take your chances. To ensure the best results possible, hiring a East Elmhurst, NY air conditioner installer that has several years of experience installing HVAC systems of all types, makes, and models is highly recommended. More hands-on experience usually means better results.

Some information about East Elmhurst, NY
East Elmhurst is a residential neighborhood in the northwest section of the New York City borough of Queens. It is bounded to the south by Jackson Heights and Corona, to the north and east by Bowery Bay, and to the west by Woodside and Ditmars Steinway. The area includes LaGuardia Airport, located on the shore of Flushing Bay, and Astoria Heights.
From colonial times to the early 1900s, the area now known as East Elmhurst was a vast marsh named Trains Meadow. Urbanization at the turn of the century was creating a New York City housing shortage and urban sprawl. In 1909, Edward A. MacDougall’s Queensboro Corporation bought 325 acres (132 ha) of undeveloped land and farms to the south and christened them Jackson Heights after John C. Jackson, a descendant of one of the original Queens families and a respected Queens County entrepreneur.
The neighborhood formerly contained an amusement area along Bowery Bay Beach (later renamed North Beach), which started operating in 1886. An amusement park called Gala Amusement Park was built by William Steinway on the Bowery Bay in what is now present-day LaGuardia Airport. In the 19th century the area used to be called Frogtown before Steinway rebuilt the area. It was home to the East Coast’s first Ferris wheel and was known as the ‘Coney Island of Queens.’ Gala Amusement Park was eventually shut down due to Prohibition. In 1929 it was razed and transformed into a 105-acre (42 ha) private flying field named Glenn H. Curtiss Airport after the pioneer Long Island aviator, later called North Beach Airport. Starting in 1937, a Works Progress Administration project transformed North Beach Airport into LaGuardia Airport, which formally opened in 1939.
The first houses were built in 1905. These residences were small frame houses located on 40-by-100-foot (12 by 30 m) lots, and some houses on the bay contained private beaches. The neighborhood’s first commercial development came to Ditmars Boulevard during World War II.
